Getting Started: Beginning The Process Of Finding Angel Investment

Getting some Divine Inspiration is easy. Your Summary and Business Plan can be ready to go in a few days, or even faster if you've already written a Business Plan.

Once you've joined up we'll help you through the process of creating an Executive Summary and Business Plan using our simple, user-friendly formats. You'll get written feedback on these and a review of your business plan with an experienced Angels Den advisor so you get the benefit of all our experience in knowing what Angels are looking for. Click here to see the information you'll need for the Business Plan.

Once you've completed your Business Plan we'll circulate it to over 3000 Angel members and you can book to attend Pitching School and your SpeedFunding event. At SpeedFunding you get to pitch one-on-one to Angels for 3 minutes each, which is far less nerve-wracking than a stand-up pitch in front of a room full of Angels and advisors who are fiddling with their Blackberries! We guarantee you will have their full attention as they can't get away from you. Then you'll have time to chat to them informally over a glass of wine and get feedback and set up meetings.
The combination of reducing nerves, focussing the attention of Angels, the one-to-one rapport (oh and alcohol) make these THE most effective way to link up with Angels who can invest in you.

We also collect feedback which allows our dedicated Angel relationship managers to help you set up meetings and keep track of Angels who are interested right up to the point of getting funding in the bank. The benefit of these people is that they get to know the Angels personally and know what will interest them and how to present it.  Only when you have cash in the bank do we ask for our 5% success fee. (Note: you might want to add 5% to the amount you are pitching for so get the full amount of funding needed for your expansion plans and our fee is paid from the amount invested.)

Pitching for any kind of funding involves sharing your idea with people you don't already know. If aspects of your idea are sensitive and there are ideas which could be patented but you haven't applied for a patent, don't include them in your pitch. You need to be happy you have the appropriate balance between making your Summary compelling enough to interest an Angel without giving away all your secrets. There is a separate process especially designed for ideas which are pre-patent and inventors who need commercial support, called MicrofundingClick here for details on this.
