There are many other ways to fund your business which might work for different businesses depending on your specific circumstances.

Remember that successful business people have an average of 2 failed businesses behind them, so you may need to bounce back from a failure quickly and effectively, at least twice. This is why it’s not a bad idea to work with someone else’s money, someone who will help to make your business a success. With an Angel Investor involved you are much less likely to fail, given the feedback and expertise that they will bring.
