Founder, Cally Russell, pitched at one of our Tech Club events, where he gained strong interest from several investors. Cally went on to raise £500k from Par Equity, Scottish Investment Bank and several private angels, including one Angels Den member. After securing this investment, he stated, ‘’We really liked the people at Angels Den. Chris was a great advocate for us, trying to push us and pull people into our deal. He did a fantastic job! "
In February of this year, Cally rejected £75,000 of investment from Dragons’ Den’s Peter Jones, which proved to be a masterstroke. Other investors in this £2.5 million round include: Par Equity, the Scottish investment bank, Skyskanner CEO Gareth Williams, Actix founder Rob Dobson and 4J co-founders Chris van der Kuyl and Paddy Burns.
Bill Morrow, CEO Angels Den: ''Mallzee is a great example of a business that understands that you should not just take any money that is thrown at you. The team and technology involved with this business and the support around them is fantastic. They know it's all about the mentoring.''
Mallzee now has over a million products from the world’s biggest retailers, and with this new round of investment, will look to double their staff numbers and grow their user base to over a million people by the end of the year. All of us at Angels Den are very proud to see companies that have pitched at our events flourishing and we wish Cally and the team the best of luck moving forward.
