FungiAlert revolutionises the discovery of microorganisms for use as bio-products within the agricultural market. The discovery of microorganisms can lead to identifying natural predators to economically devastating pathogens, to identifying microbes for bio-fertilisation & carbon capture. FungiAlert achieves this using patented SproSenZ technology, which captures active microorganisms directly from the field, isolating & cultivating them at the right time & conditions, 3-4X faster than existing routes. These natural and sustainable bio-products support the growth of the food that we need for our growing population, whilst nourishing and protecting the ecosystems we need to sustain life.

THE IDEA
Products & Services

FungiAlert's patented SporSenZ technology captures active microorganisms directly from fields, isolating & cultivating them at the right time and conditions. Combined with Targeted Sampling, FungiAlert can discover superior bio-product candidates for desired crops and applications, 3-4x faster than current routes. Essentially, FungiAlert harness and captures nature's natural response to different environment.
FungiAlert i) licences microorganisms to 3rd parties for them to develop into bio-products, or ii) FungiAlert develops their most interesting microorganism candidate leads into bio-products and licences the bio-product for a higher return.

Problem Solved

Intensive agriculture is a main contributor towards climate change and it also reduces our ecosystems’ carbon storage capacities. Chemical pesticides and chemical fertilisers are harmful for the environment and are degrading the ecosystems that we need to sustain life. Biological solutions for agriculture are sustainable alternatives to chemicals, and microorganisms play an important role as bio-products. There are >1 tn microorganisms on earth, and to date, only 0.001% have been discovered. Current discovery methods rely on traditional methods and there is a clear need for innovation within the microbial discovery space to be able to unlock the potential of our natural resources.

Revenue Model

Revenue is from licensing i) microorganisms or ii) developed bio-products. FungiAlert receives milestone payments and % of annual net sales of the bio-product. The % net sales that FungiAlert receives is dependent on the stage of development of the microorganisms. FungiAlert’s business model is: (1) To further develop FungiAlert’s most exciting candidates into bio-products, and licence to large Agricultural Input Companies for manufacturing and commercialisation (20-30% of the final net sales). (2) To generate revenue earlier and to de-risk business model 1, FungiAlert will licence microorganisms that are currently in FungiAlert’s microbial library to others to develop (2-3% net sales).
