BEATONS TEAROOMS LIMITED - Investment Opportunity

Opening the first Tearooms in Tisbury, Wiltshire in 2010, Beatons contemporary take on the traditional tearooms took its inspiration from photographer and fashion designer Cecil Beaton. With a design and ethos around delivering a calm, restorative experience, they are also positioned to take full advantage of the growing interested in tea as an alternative to coffee and resurgent interest in home baked cakes and food. Initial success at its first location led Beatons along a Franchise route and with its now proven model operating in 4 franchised tearooms, the business now plans a total of 35 tearooms over a 5 year period.

THE IDEA
Products & Services

Beatons is a full table service tearooms. At the heart of their offering is the range of 25 Loose leaf teas and a full coffee range all augmented by a range of on site baked cakes and food offerings for Breakfast, Light lunch and Afternoon t. As a tearoom, our signature product is a full ‘tiered’ Afternoon tea. Each tearooms also carries a small curated selection of books for customers to browse and buy, aimed to appeal to the target customer base. Key to the offering is the ambience, reflecting the elegance and style of the namesake rounded off with the bespoke commissioned V&B China and trademark attentive service completing the contemporary and elegant feel that adds to their uniqueness.

Problem Solved

In high streets dominated by counter service, take away and high volume food and beverage outlets, dominated by 'every which way' coffee, their aim is instead to deliver to customers a place to meet, socialise and enjoy and an experience leaving them restored and refreshed.

Revenue Model

The business has three key revenue streams.
The first is from their owned/pilot operational tearoom, a B to C offering.
The Second is initial Franchise fees paid when a new franchise signs up, These fees relate to the costs of promoting the franchise and onboarding of new franchisees.
The third, and most important, is the ongoing management fees charged on franchise turnover which represents the IP held in the franchise model as well as the day to day operational support to the franchisee network.
