Fox Robotics- the future of agriculture. We don't re-invent the wheel, we focus on automating the tasks that are overlooked and are critical to the industry. We create solutions for scarce labour.

Fox Robotics began in the warehouse industry, developing an Autonomous Mobile Robot (ARM) to automate the logistics and transportation operations. This industry had a few key players, increasing popularity across Europe and the UK, making this incredibly competitive. In mid-2020, the founder of Fox Robotics made the executive decision in pivoting the focus to outdoor agricultural robotics after seeing how inefficient operations in agriculture are. As a result, a new AMR design was created for the agriculture challenges in the soft fruit sector. The AMR would automate the simple operations carried out by humans so that humans can focus on the more complex tasks- fruit picking.
Hugo RT (Rough Terrain) is an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) that has been designed to automate outdoor soft fruit logistics that are highly dependent on human labour. Hugo RT increases productivity and efficiency by replacing "runners" (humans who transport the picked fruit to the collection zone) with the use of software and real-time data, ensuring that pickers keep picking. The software helps farms see productivity information and removes the need for manual data collection, which is time-consuming and rarely used. The software allows the farmer to coordinate the robots, measure picker productivity, reduce costs and produce waste. In addition, the data will help to estimate the yield.
Fox Robotics solves several problems for farmers. First, it helps to reduce strain from labour shortages. This is an issue seen across agriculture due to increased costs, reliance on migrant seasonal workers, and decreased UK nationals working in farms. The problems have been amplified by covid and Brexit. Farmers rely on manual labour to transport delicate produce from the picker in the field to the designated drop off zone. Data such as time, the weight of produce picked, name, the date is collected from the picker manually by the supervisor. This is time-consuming and inefficient. We solve this problem by automating the transportation and data collection so that picker keeps picking.
