HATCH

The self-employed do not enjoy the same access to financial services as the employed. Accurate risk profiling is the core impediment that prevents 4.5m people getting access to the same products/services as their employed counterparts. Open banking (PSD2) & the harmonisation of accounts reporting (XBRL - Extensible Reporting Language) by HMRC & Hatch's proprietary machine learning algorithm & graphing of the self-employed allows them to credit assess a sole traders balance sheet. The Hatch platform benefits the self-employed, by giving them better access to financial services & businesses, such as banks & financial institutions who want to lend to this group.

THE IDEA
Products & Services

Risk Profiling - The Hatch credit score, designed for the self-employed, combines open banking (PSD2), accounts data (XBRL) and Hatch's ‘self-employed business graph’ to give an accurate, real time credit score. Productivity - The Hatch ecosystem and partner network will provide a comprehensive suite of tools that reduce the admin burden. Hatch will initially focus on digitising the filing of taxes, by far the largest time burden. Cash-flow - Using Hatch's real-time, self-employed specific credit score, Hatch will work with lenders to open up invoice funding solutions that aren't currently available.

Problem Solved

Hatch solves the three most important & damaging problems the self employed face. 1) Access to financial products & services - the inability to accurately risk profile the self-employed & small business owners leads to automatic exclusion for mainstream financial products. 2) Productivity - administrative tasks, such as tax filing and reporting take up a huge amount of time. Hatch's access to the users banking & accounting data, combined with API access to HMRC, enables hatch to auto complete self-assessment tax filing, significantly reducing the admin burden. 3) Cashflow - using Hatch's credit scoring, they will open up micro invoice funding for the self-employed at a reasonable rate.

Revenue Model

Hatch is free at the point of use to the self-employed. Revenue is generated in 3 ways: 1) Affiliate fees - working with partners to deliver services in platform enables Hatch to charge an introduction/facilitation fee. 2) Credit Score API – lenders need/want to lend to Hatch's user base. In addition to affiliate fees for introducing, utilising Hatch's credit score API becomes a significant revenue source. 3) Micro Invoice Funding - in the Phase 2 launch, Hatch will offer invoice funding to users (utilising Hatch's credit score). Hatch will be launching its pilot MVP to market in Sept 2018. The pilot will be to 5k beta users, with 50% already registered.

Exit Strategy

Hatch has a clear 5 year plan for exit via trade sale. Our strategy is to align team, product and user base with that of market leading technology companies that have strong user base alignment and mass (global) market reach. Likely acquirers are:

- Google
- Facebook
- Amazon
- Salesforce
