AquAffirm is revolutionising the way that one of our most precious resources, WATER, is managed globally using patented smart sensors and AI-enabled software. With a >16-year track record of working together in the tech sector, the award-winning team has pioneered the development of the world’s FIRST portable digital cloud-connected smart sensor platform for measuring a range of water contaminants. Together with a state-of-the-art data platform that enables real-time data mapping & analytics and sustainable infrastructure asset management, AquAffirm is reimaging the way that water is sustainably managed. With interested customers from all over the world, AquAffirm is set for massive growth.
AquAffirm is commercialising two key product lines:
-AquAffirm™ smart water sensors: world’s FIRST portable digital sensors for water contaminants; cloud-connected platform uses smartphone & AquAffirm’s proprietary app, enabling, for the first time, real-time mapping and decision-making, key client needs. This has been piloted for arsenic (a carcinogen killing many thousands each year) and is being developed for antibiotics (a public health timebomb), lead, PFAS & other environmental contaminants.
-AquaFORM™ sustainable infrastructure asset design & management software: proprietary software for sustainable infrastructure asset management, including the CarbEx™ carbon footprint calculator.
Water security is a global challenge, exacerbated by human activity and climate change. In the UK excessive use of fertiliser and pesticides in agriculture is responsible for 40% of water pollution, putting public health and nature at risk, while emerging pollutants such as antibiotics will trigger the public health timebomb of antimicrobial resistance if not contained. Globally, water contamination is a crisis affecting hundreds of millions with current field tests deemed “obsolete” while industries like mining and oil & gas (which by regulation must test wastewater regularly) use “outdated and inadequate” tests, underscoring clear market need for improved monitoring strategies and tests.
AquAffirm (AA) generates revenues from:
i) sales of AquAffirm™ micro-readers & test strips priced at significant premium to cost (razor-razor blade model), using bundled pricing model. Due to scalable test strip manufacturing, COGs reduce significantly as manufacturing scales up, leading to increased margins.
ii) licensing of access to data collected globally for range of water contaminants (DaaS model).
iii) licensing of access to AquaFORM™ sustainable infrastructure planning/design software to water companies, E&C clients, & architect practices (SaaS).
For early revenue generation & to de-risk business model AA also consults & will develop bespoke (aptamer-based) sensors for clients.
