This Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences, and to understand how a website is used.

Local storage and session storage are browser mechanisms that allow websites to store data on your device. Local storage persists until explicitly cleared; session storage is cleared when you close the browser tab. Under UK PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations), these are treated similarly to cookies.

3. Technologies We Use

The sections below list all cookies, local storage keys, and session storage keys used by our website and platform.

A) Cookies

Supabase authentication session Set by: Supabase JS SDK Purpose: Maintains your authenticated session using the PKCE authentication flow. Required for you to remain logged in. Duration: Session-based (JWT refresh cycle) Category: Strictly necessary

Cloudflare Turnstile Set by: Cloudflare Purpose: Maintains CAPTCHA challenge state for bot detection on forms and authentication pages. Duration: Session Category: Strictly necessary

B) Browser Local Storage

Authentication tokens (sb-* keys) Purpose: Supabase authentication session tokens (JWT and refresh token). Required for you to remain logged in across page loads. Category: Strictly necessary

Application draft state (ad_pending_claim) Purpose: Maintains application draft claim state when you confirm your email in a different browser tab. Required for the application flow to function correctly. Category: Strictly necessary (functional)

Post-authentication redirect (ad_auth_redirect) Purpose: Records where to return you after login or authentication. Required for correct post-authentication navigation. Category: Strictly necessary (functional)

PostHog identifiers Purpose: An anonymous user identifier (UUID) used by PostHog to associate usage events with a consistent anonymous session. No personal identifiers (name, email) are stored. See Section 4 for detail. Category: Analytics

C) Browser Session Storage

Session storage is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab.

Application form drafts (ad_apply_form_*) Purpose: Preserves your founder application form progress if you refresh the page within the same browser session. This prevents you from losing your work. Category: Strictly necessary (functional)

Application step tracker (ad_apply_step) Purpose: Records your current step in the multi-step application wizard. Category: Strictly necessary (functional)

4. Analytics: PostHog

Our platform uses PostHog for product analytics to help us understand how the platform is used and to identify areas for improvement.

How PostHog works on our platform:

  • PostHog is configured in localStorage-only mode. It does not set cookies.

  • PostHog stores an anonymous UUID in your browser's local storage to associate usage events with a consistent anonymous session.

  • We do not send your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers to PostHog.

  • Input fields in session recordings are masked to prevent capture of personal data you enter into forms.

  • PostHog data is hosted on PostHog's EU cloud infrastructure.

  • We track three core funnels: signup-to-certification, certification-to-deal-view, and deal-view-to-interest-expression.

PECR position: PostHog's use of local storage falls within the scope of UK PECR Regulation 6, which covers storage of information on a user's terminal equipment. We have assessed that the privacy impact is minimal given: the data collected is anonymous (UUID only); input fields are masked; and data is hosted in the EU. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding platform usage to justify this storage.

Opting out: If you prefer not to be included in our analytics, you can clear your browser's local storage at any time (this removes the PostHog anonymous identifier) or enable your browser's "Do Not Track" setting. You can also use a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.

5. Error Monitoring: Sentry

Our platform uses Sentry to detect and diagnose technical errors. Sentry does not set cookies or use local/session storage on your device.

  • When a technical error occurs, Sentry receives the error details, browser metadata (device type, browser version), and a session replay of the error context.

  • Users are identified by UUID and user type only. No name, email, or other personal identifiers are sent to Sentry.

  • Sentry data is hosted in Sentry's EU region.

  • Error data is retained per Sentry's default retention policy (typically 90 days).

6. Marketing Website (Framer)

Our marketing website at angelsden.com is hosted on Framer. Framer may use its own built-in analytics, which Framer states does not use cookies or persistent identifiers. We do not currently add any third-party tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or social media trackers to our marketing website.

If this changes in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and activate any new non-essential tracking only after you provide consent through our cookie banner.

7. Cookie Consent Banner

Our website displays a cookie consent banner. At present, the cookies and similar technologies we use are limited to those described in this Policy.

If we introduce non-essential cookies or additional third-party tracking technologies in the future (such as advertising pixels, retargeting, or third-party analytics beyond PostHog), those technologies will not be activated until you provide consent through the cookie banner. We will update this Policy before activating any new non-essential tracking.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site, which will re-display the consent banner.

8. Managing Cookies and Local Storage

You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings:

Cookies: Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies through the browser's privacy or settings menu. Common browsers: Chrome (Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies), Firefox (Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies), Safari (Preferences > Privacy), Edge (Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions).

Local storage: You can clear local storage through your browser's developer tools (usually under Application > Local Storage) or by clearing all site data in your browser settings.

Session storage: Cleared automatically when you close the browser tab. No action required.

Please note: Disabling or clearing essential cookies or local storage (particularly authentication tokens) will log you out and may prevent you from using the platform until you log in again.

9. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, particularly if we introduce new analytics tools, advertising, or third-party integrations that use cookies or similar technologies. We will post the updated version on our website and update the "Last updated" date.
