The London Angel Club is made up of a group of investors who are looking to share due diligence and co-invest in established companies with a proven model. The Club provides the chance for investors to see pitches from carefully pre-screened businesses that have been selected from a number of applicants and is a collaborative event where members can hear from fellow investors with experience and expertise in a wide range of sectors.
Due to the large number of members, pitches are repeated at two separate events allowing members to join session 1 or 2 without missing out or losing the boardroom feel and the ability to ask questions. The format of each event is 10 minute pitches, followed by 10 minutes of questions and answers and 10 minutes of discussion amongst the investors. The London Angel Club focuses on established businesses that are generating revenue and are scalable with a focus on the B2B (business to business) market. The sectors these businesses come from include: food and drink, manufacturing and tech-enabled. Most companies are looking to raise between £100,000- £500,000.
The format of the event provides investors with the opportunity to ask direct questions to the entrepreneurs after their pitches. There is then the chance for investors to a discuss the pitch with fellow investors without the entrepreneur in the room. This format gives you the chance to hear from investors with expertise in that sector and from others with a wide variety of other expertise and experience. This makes for quality questions and discussion.
After the event there is then a chance to network with both fellow investors and entrepreneurs over drinks.
