We were astonished that there was nothing that properly helped parents travel through airports with tired, young children. The issues became apparent when we had our first daughter and being both employed in the aviation industry we felt well placed to offer a solution. Bagrider was that inspiration, essentially a cabin bag that quickly transforms into a secure travelling seat for infants that could be wheeled all the way to your aircraft seat and complies with strict sizes for onboard luggage.
This is a revolutionary new product that makes travelling with young children a lot easier. It is a cabin bag that transforms into a travelling seat for infants (6 months to approx. 4yrs) The bag's capacity is virtually unaffected and it is quickly folded into a normal wheeled configuration that complies with the strict cabin sizes for most major airlines. The seat is fully integrated into the bag and allows the child to sit securely in a comfortable reclined position. Capacity is retained as the seat itself will form a usable compartment which would be fully accessible even when the infant is seated.
Travelling through airports can be stressful for parents at the best of times. You will probably have a pram which may be taken off you at check-in or if you're allowed through the terminal it will significantly increase the time spent at security... unpacking, folding, scanning and reassembling. With the current aviation threats this will not change in the foreseeable future. Even more of an inconvenience is the fact that the buggy will be taken from you at the aircraft door and more than likely the next time you'll be reunited with it will be the over-sized baggage reclaim. This means carrying tired young children on often long walks through the terminal.
After building a fully tested prototype to present to buyers we have a couple of models we could follow. 1)A negotiated licensing agreement with a relevant company/companies. 2) A direct sales model, subcontracting out production, logistics, marketing etc. with sales through our website, direct to retailers and in-flight retail the latter is the more likely route initially.
