Capture is redefining the way we create and share a child’s learning journey. No more post-its or folders of hand written notes. Capture is a one-stop solution for capturing and tracking progress. It covers all the areas of reporting required for OFSTED and allows parents to view observations and reports online whenever they like. It saves nurseries between 50% and 80% of the time they currently spend and improves the satisfaction and retention of parents.

THE IDEA
Products & Services

Capture Education is a cloud based tracking and reporting tool for the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 markets. It has been designed to be a simple, easy to use solution that allows our customers to quickly and securely record and track the progress of children through a range of curriculums including the Early Years Foundation Stage for England and Wales and the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland.

Parents have their own portal that allows them to view observations and reports on their children whilst also allowing parents to submit their own observations. This is a critical part of OFSTEDs assessment of both nurseries and childminders.

Problem Solved

Learning Journals are an important record of a child's development and are a key record of a child's progress through their formative years. We found that over 88% of nurseries surveyed still record observations by taking a photograph, printing it out, sticking into a 'scrap book' and then hand writing notes to explain the observation. These records are often kept at the nursery and so parents feel disconnected to their child's progress.
Our research shows that Capture can save a nursery between 30%-80% of the time spent recording observations and pays for itself within 4 months. The parent portal enables them to become more engaged with their child's progress and generates nursery loyalty.

Revenue Model

The Capture software is based on an annual subscription model. Our product will create loyal customers as the services we provide them will help generate customer loyalty and brand value. It will also save them time and money which are both critical in a cost driven market. By offering outstanding customer service and focusing on a program of continuous innovation and development we believe we will achieve a high retention of customers.

As Capture is a web based platform we are also able to localise the product for the international market allowing us access to a huge market. We have already had interest from America, Finland and Malaysia.
