ARMD LIMITED

ARMD is an award-winning insurtech, reinventing the way tradespeople protect their livelihoods via a unique combination of technology and insurance.

Investment Opportunity

We founded ARMD after customers at our previous IoT tech business, which we sold to Tyman plc in 2019, asked us for a solution to protect their tools. Tool theft is a huge problem that costs UK business an estimated £5.2B a year, so we decided to do something about it. Our award-winning solution uses smart tech and insurance to help prevent theft and get trades back to work quickly if the worst happen. We're starting by focusing on tool protection, but plan to expand our offering to include more products and services, ultimately becoming the insurtech of choice for tradespeople, not just in the UK, but globally.

THE IDEA
Products & Services

The ARMD ecosystem is a unique combination of products and services that provides both proactive protection and reimbursement in one solution. Our proposition consists of 4 core elements:

Record - A free tool inventory app for tradespeople to digitally record their tools.
Protect - The new ARMD Guard smart van alarm and tracker calls when the van is attacked.
Insure - Digital tool insurance that comes with a unique quick settlement promise.
Replace - An online shop selling over 30,000 tools from the major brands.

It’s all designed to maximise protection and minimise downtime, and we believe the combination of smart prevention and reimbursement is the future of insurance.

Problem Solved

78% of trades have had their tools stolen and van crime has increased by more than a third in the last 12 months.

Tool theft is an epidemic and the related insurance products are flawed from the perspective of both the customer and insurer. We make insurance work by getting tradespeople back up and running straight away with minimal fuss and improve profitability for the insurer at the same time.

Revenue Model

Our revenue model is based on providing multiple entry points to the ARMD ecosystem from where we can sell and cross-sell our services on a subscription model.

- Complete Protection – customers can subscribe to a unique package that includes both the ARMD Guard and insurance together.
- Tool App – the free app enables customers to register their tools from where we upsell the insurance they need as well as the ARMD Guard to protect their van.
- ARMD Guard – sold as a monthly subscription through our website, the retail channel and our B2B partners. Alarm customers can then be cross-sold tool insurance.
- Tool Hire Voucher Guarantee – this will be a standard feature of the ARMD Guard.
