In the EU, the tax-free model is built to increase the purchasing power that incoming and non-resident travellers have by treating the purchase of goods as an international export.
This refund process usually is done through an intermediary (tax-free provider). In this case, the intermediary has the responsibility of validating all information the traveller presents with the Government and then transferring the money if the process is successful. In case the refund is successful, Woonivers charges a commission as a percentage of the total VAT subject of reclamation and refunds the remaining amount to the claiming part.
