Secret Spa is an app & website that allows you to book 5-star spa beauty & wellness treatments to your home, office or hotel. Operating in the UK's +£5bn per year beauty services market, treatments include everything from expert massages to luxurious manicures. The core revenue stream is from a commission (25% - 50%) on the total booking value. Our vision is to provide exceptional therapists through a seamless iOS, Android and web apps that can be scaled across London, the UK & beyond.
Secret Spa offers beauty & spa treatments in the following categories – Nails, Waxing, Massages, Eyes, Facials, Spray Tans, Make Up & Hair.
Secret Spa operates through a seamless booking process that follows these simple steps:
1. A customer selects from our range of luxury treatments in the iOS app or on the website
2. They then select a time & a place for the appointment and reserve by entering their payments details
3. This sends a request to select therapists in our network based on their skill-set, availability, and the areas of London they cover
4. A booking is automatically confirmed with the customer when a therapist accepts the job
For women (and an increasing number of men) high-street salons do not work. Our initial surveying of 50 women found that the average level of satisfaction with their salon or at home therapist was 5.5 out of 10. Key reasons include:
– Finding an appointment: appointments at salons are in high demand requiring booking far in advance that is not possible around busy work or child care schedules
– Travel: For busy professionals and/or mothers time is scarce and travelling to & from a salon is inefficient and inappropriate for many beauty treatments (e.g. spray tans)
– Consistency of service: therapist standards are inconsistent at salons with many not using proper feedback processes
The core revenue stream comes from charging a commission on the total value of bookings. Currently, three segments are being targeted:
– Mass-affluent consumers: the commission for these consumer bookings is 25% with our average booking value since trading at £80 (SS commission £20)
– VIP’s: the higher price point (+£120 per booking) means SS takes a higher commission between 30 – 50% on each booking
– B2B offices, events & hotels: the commission range can between 25 – 50% depending on the size of the booking
We are have also begun discussions with beauty brands (e.g. FakeBake) about developing a wider e-commerce platform to sell products alongside treatments.
